The Médoc has a very rich heritage, where peaceful and tranquil nature rubs shoulders with magnificent buildings with a wide variety of architecture.
The estuary, a preserved natural landscape
From the Gironde estuary (seaway lined with pretty little ports) from Macau to Verdon-Sur Mer, you can admire the myriad of small islands that shape the landscape, the carrelets (fishing huts on stilts), but also the most beautiful buildings in the Médoc: Fort Médoc, the Lighthouse of Richard, the Lighthouse of Cordouan.
Wine tourism in a 2CV or the Grands Crus route
Not far from there, in the middle of the vineyard, the most prestigious and classy Médoc châteaux in the region (Château Margaux, Clos d'Estournel, Château Baron Pichon and many others). They are surrounded by magnificent landscapes which, depending on the season, offer a palette of colors worthy of the most beautiful paintings.

Although the Médoc offers various specialities: oenological (from the artisan vintage to the greatest classified vintage), taste (lamprey and snails à la Bordelaise, hazelnuts and vine shoots from the Médoc (chocolate), without forgetting the Bordeaux canelés), the discovery of the region is also artistic. But the Médoc is also the Atlantic coast, its large expanses and its fine sandy beaches from Soulac-Sur-Mer to Lacanau via Montalivet and Carcans. A paradise for surfers with their powerful waves, families will prefer the tranquility of the natural lakes. Whether it's the lake of Lacanau or that of Carcans and Hourtin (the largest natural freshwater lake in France), young and old will find what they are looking for among all the activities on offer: paddle, pedalo, sailing, canoeing, but also nature trails , fishing, hiking, yoga…
Of course, the Bassin d'Arcachon (with its Dune du Pilat) well known to all is also a very popular destination for tourists.
